Ayotunde Tundaylawal , popularly and professionally known as LUSSH, is a Nigerian record producer, drummer, band director and songwriter. He started his career professionally with the Davido owned DMW record label, where he worked with label artists like Mayorkun, Dremo, Danagog amongst others.
He prides himself with production credits on DJ Spinall’s second album, where he produced the massive hit ‘Ohema’ feat. Mr Eazi, a record that’s still enjoying heavy rotation till today. Other credits include ‘Bobo’ by Mayorkun ft Davido, ‘Bia’ by Seyi Shay, ‘Obasanjo’ by Capbee, ‘Enough For You’ by Dice Ailes and ‘Dapada’ by Dremo ft Mayorkun off the just released body of work from Dremo.
His skill and ingenuity has gotten him several nods from industry heads. Top Naija Music Awards nominated him in the ‘Best Producer’ category in 2016, TooXclusive ranked him as number 5 on their list of most promising acts, Leaders of Tomorrow Group named him as a talent to look out for.
BACKGROUND
Lussh grew up in the Iponri environs of Surulere, where at the tender age of 10 he started playing conga and percussion drums in the church choir. While there, he looked to improve his craft so he sought out his uncle (a jazz artist, and multi instrumentalist), who took him under his tutelage and taught him the professional side of music. Whilst growing up he attended Jibril Martins Memorial Grammar School where he graduated and was on course to become a scientist, but his passion for music took the better of him. Now he studies Mass Communication at Yaba College of Technology, where he still intends to be a scientist…that is, a music scientist (that’s if there’s anything like that, LOL).
With works on projects for young, fresh and promising acts like Mani LaPussh, Evelle, Ewa Cole, etc; Lussh doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon.
